Ratings & Reviews
Stayed here waiting for a cruise ship. The whole neighborhood is sort of really creepy tourist trap. The hotel is awful, Concrete slamming steel doors, noisy, run down. The beach is nice and is literally right behind the hotel and they provide chairs and umbrellas for you, for free.
We stayed 6 nights in a beachfront one bedroom suite. This is a pretty big room with kitchen, dining area and couch area. Kitchen has a stove, microwave and full fridge. Separate bedroom but had a pull out couch in living room. Area was centrally located on the beach. We watched an amazing New Year's fireworks display from our room, walked the boardwalk in front of hotel on the beach and shopped behind the hotel on Front Street. Great jumping off spot to tour other beaches on the island. Taxis easy to get from hotel. Didn't drive--need practice/patience driving around this island. Only issue we had was no hot water shower, but the hotel staff found a room with hot water, so we moved to that room. All hotel staff were helpful with everything and always smiling & friendly. We enjoyed this trip and would stay here again.
Candidly for the amount of money paid this hotel is not a good value. If you want to be close to a cruise ship before embarkation you might consider other properties. The bed was very hard, there was no hot water and to say the accommodation was stark would be an understatement. The area at night when we arrived was completely shattered. You have to walk through an alley to get to the elevator to go to the check-in desk. The statement by the desk person was to be sure and have the roll down Window shuttered when sleeping or when leaving the room. Not very comforting to my wife and I must admit very disconcerting to me. A huge disappointment.
We enjoyed our stay, this was our third time at this hotel. We intend to continue staying here on our other vacations. The location is ideal for shopping and relaxing on the beach. Getting things to eat is not a problem as there are places very close by when the need arises.
The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of the beach avenue where lots of shops and restaurants around. I met the hotel's manager at the reception, who told me he was an immigrant from India long ago, was very receptive. Upon check in, he asked me if I would like to pay more for a room upgrade to have a beach view. He was kind enough to show me the room for inspection before staying. I ended up by not paying more for an upgrade because I was happy with the room that I pre-booked on the website after the inspection. Upon check out, this very friendly & gentle manager helped me to call a taxi and sent me off down at the street level. I was impressed by his welcoming hospitality and kindness for giving me advice on travelling around the Island. The facilities inside the room were excellent. The room was spacious, bright & has a big balcony. I particularly preferred the open kitchen containing every item you might need such as plates, bowls, detergent, a microwave oven and cleaning tissues. The only thing that I found dissatisfied was that there was not a decent restaurant within the hotel premises where I could enjoy the breakfast. The hotel could offer very simple "bread and coffee only" at the reception area. I guess most visitors like me would prefer to go outside the hotel where there were far more comfortable restaurants nearby to have breakfasts. However, this was a bit misleading as the booking website stated that the room rates did include breakfast; most people might expect that the breakfasts would not be as simple as "bread and coffee only" and that they would eat the breakfasts in the hotel's restaurant!!! Overall speaking, the hotel was worth staying considering the price and the location. However, it would be wise if the hotel can put a little hint on the "breakfast included" to avoid misleading messages as advertised and disappointment from guests.
