This is a place I have been coming for over 30 years. It's what our now grown children think of as there vacation place. From my bed I can see the ocean, walk 10 steps and sit on the open patio. The beach is up now from the hurricane but I can walk to the pool and sit under the canopy. They've build a new viewing platform to watch the planes (if that is your thing!) I love cooking breakfast in the kitchen, or walking down the beach to cappuccino at the Karatar bus. It has to be the most private beach on the island. The staff is amazing and I hate to even write about the place..sometimes you want to keep the jewels all to yourself.
Beachside Villas are better than ever. The amazing reconstruction done by all the staff has been miraculous. We have been coming down here for 25 years and have never found anywhere that could even come close to this paradise. After just returning from a month there, I miss the sounds of the waves and the fresh air blowing in. I have to say that every sunrise and sunset has been spectacular, unlike any I have ever seen on the island. The same wonderful staff greeted us and took care of every little detail. We were so happy to see that they all made it through Hurricane Irma and have a job to come home to. Most of our days were spent at the villa with dinners at our favorite restaurants. The beginning of March, St. Maarten, again hosted the Heineken Regatta with the motto SXM strong. The island is a story of survival. The second day, the entire race was held in Simpson Bay because of winds around the island. It was so beautiful to watch from our deck. Many contributions were made to help rebuild the youth sailing program on the island. Everything in our villa from top to bottom was brand new. It was beautifully decorated with caribbean flair. The new flat screen TVs are great and have many channels. Security is easily visable at night with their new bright yellow shirts and we felt safe and secure for the entire trip. We miss not seeing Telly but know that he is on the beach with us every moment and that Yolanda will be down soon. I can't wait until I return.
BSV has been updated and has a/c in bedrooms and in Living room. Their rules are that they'd like you to turn off a/c when not in the villa. On our stay March 1-8 2018 we found this idea worked for us. When we re entered we'd turn on A/C and the ceiling fan and room was cooled in minutes. The open atrium area has been closed in so opening back & front doors for the breeze is not longer possible. I guess one has to give up something to get something. We prefer breeze to A/C. But this will not keep us from returning to this paradise.
We stayed at Beachside Villas for 2 weeks during January 2018. We have stayed in St Maarten every January over the last ten years. This was our first stay at Beachside Villas and we have finally found paradise. Our bedroom and living room patios opened onto the beach which is steps away. Our villa was just completely rebuilt from flooing, to new furniture and appliances. The staff is superb with daily housekeeping, around the clock security and an onsite manager. Thank You Tracy, Drew, Marve and the staff-we will be back!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our trip at Beachside Villa in Simpson Bay, St. Maarten is always top notch. We have been coming for eighteen years in a row, and we weren't sure what it would be like this year after Hurricane Irma. But it was - candidly- better than ever! The condo unit was restored and improved since the hurricane. we love the new enclosure that significantly expands the usable footprint of the condo, creating a new dining room area. In addition, there were brand new appliances and a flat screen HD TV with loads of channel options. The wifi came in very clear. We were pleased that the pool was as good as new. Of course, the beach and the view are as amazing as ever. We spent most of our time just relaxing at the villas and explored restaurants for dinner in the evenings. As of mid-January, we would say that Phillipsburg was about 90% back. Simpson Bay had almost all of our favorite restaurants up and running - along with an excellent gourmet supermarket. Maho was hit harder, but we still found places to enjoy. Thanks again for another incredible week.
