Great Resort - Fantastic Management

The Marina is a sensational place to stay with a welcoming lobby, a fabulous pool and pool bar, easy access to the Marina Beach and Beach Bar, a great Mexican restaurant on site and many other features of a first rate Resort. The rooms are large and comfortable and they overlook Simpson Bay and all the water activities including large classy yachts that sail the waters. The Marina is the launching spot for all the water ships and water activities. Overall, a classy Resort and fabulous Management.

I took my girlfriend and our families here for 8 days in May and it was amazing! First, the staff is awesome and really makes you feel like family. I have stayed in the Villas every time I have been here and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. You cannot beat waking up to the view in the picture I have attached. The food is also out of this world and the their new restaurant, La Patrona, is great. They have plenty of activities on property such as casinos and water sports. Our favorite two things though have to be the day trip to Anguilla and the Sunset cruise (on Monday nights). Both of these trips are put on by AquaMania and are on a boat called the Tango. The crew is amazing and I cannot recommend these two trips enough. Overall, this is an amazing resort with the best staff I have ever seen and I would definitely recommend staying here!

Great stay at Simpsons Bay Marina

I stayed at Simpsons Bay Marina from May 17th -May 24th. First off we arrived early to the resort, check in is at 4pm however we were allowed to check in before that. Check in took no more than 10 mins..The room was clean and spacious. No balcony though but it was no big problem (we stayed in the marina building). Food for me was a little pricey compared to what we would spend in Trinidad. The resort is huge but there are shuttles that can pick you up from outside your room to where you want. We chose to walk most of the times..good exercise :) The Mexican restaurant at night was the best, very relaxing, right on the marina so that's a must to have dinner there. There were activities most nights while we were there, movie night, karaoke etc.. There's a little booth just outside the resort where people will try to trick you into getting free gifts like car rental, free lunch, free spa vouchers. They are basically trying to get you to go listen to a time share presentation on the other side of town at a different resort. That was a total waste of time...We spent all day there. Try to avoid that if you can... Everything else was great..it was easy getting into Phillipsburg..even Marigot...We took the bus which is 1.50 p/person. Check out the French side, it's worth it. Overall Simpsons Bay is a great place to stay, very affordable. I love it there!

Great hotel for the price

Checked in late at night for a short stay. The property is really big so you may get lost. Also there were no elevators in the part where I stayed. However, the room was great for the price. It was clean, the beds were comfortable. The toilet stopped flushing but was fixed shortly thereafter. The room comes with everything you need for a longer stay especially with a family. You have full refrigerator, microwave, stove. There is a beach associated with the hotel, but all beaches are public in Sxm. There is daily housekeeping, its short drive to Philipsburg to shop. Close to the airport as well.

Week In St Maarten

My wife stayed at the Villas from Friday - Wednesday and everything but the check in process was fine. The Villas are in a great area, walking distance to nightlife, restaurants and a nice view of sunsets on the Bay. The check in was a mess; we arrived a bit early about 2:30 and were told our room was almost ready, about 1/2 hour. No problem there; check in is at 4 and anything earlier than that is a bonus. My wife and I walked around and came back at 3:30. The room still wasn't ready and we were told they put a rush on it so by 4 for sure. We went to one of the pool bars, had a drink and came back at 4. The room was still not ready and we were told another half hour. Long story short we ended up having to contact Royal resorts via e-mail who told us they would contact the manager. At 5:30 we spoke to the manager who had no idea what was going on but immediately took charge and got us right to our room. Once we got to the room everything was fine for the remainder of the trip. The room was spacious and clean and comfortable and everything worked as advertised. The patio was relaxing and as I said the sunsets were wonderful. I can honestly say that the manager saved the day (Mr Hernandez I believe) and I can recommend this property due to his customer service skills.
